Armenia without mining or with a transparent, safe, green and accountable mining ?
- Environmental impacts of mining can occur at local, regional, and global scales through direct and indirect mining practices. Impacts can result in erosion, sinkholes, loss of biodiversity, or the contamination of soil, groundwater, and surface water by the chemicals emitted from mining processes.
- The mining industry is considered as one of the fastest growing economies all over the world but in particular, the contribution of mining to the country, especially those who export mineral products, are felt intensively; There are huge economic benefits of mining which befalls a country, thereby placing emphasis on the economic significance of mining and their impact on both the government and the people.
The discussion will take place on October 31, 2019 at 16:00 in Mergelyan Club.
Mr. Eric Grigoryan, Minister of Nature Protection, Karine Danielyan, Environmentalist Arman Navasardyan, Economist Tatul Manasaryan, as well as other well-known economists, economists, lawyers and other experts will be part of the discussion and debate.
